Years 7–9 (Key Stage 3)

Extracurricular activities for students in Years 7 to 9 offer valuable opportunities to strengthen leadership skills, encourage independence, and foster personal responsibility. Through participation in sports, performing arts, clubs, and community-based activities, students enhance their critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities, develop resilience, and build positive relationships. Such experiences complement academic studies, helping students mature socially and emotionally, and preparing them effectively for future educational challenges.

Enrichment Programme 

 

The Advanced Robotics Club benefits students in Years 7–9 by deepening their understanding of engineering, programming, and problem-solving through complex, hands-on projects. Participation enhances critical thinking, innovation, and teamwork as students design, build, and program advanced robotic systems. The club fosters resilience, creativity, and technical confidence, preparing students for future studies in STEM fields and real-world technological challenges.  

 

The Band / A Cappella Club benefits students in Years 7–9 by developing musical talent, vocal or instrumental skills, and performance confidence. Participation promotes discipline, active listening, and collaboration as students work together to create cohesive musical pieces. The club enhances creativity, stage presence, and self-expression, while fostering a strong sense of community, teamwork, and shared achievement.  

 

The Photography Club benefits students in Years 7–9 by nurturing creativity, visual awareness, and technical skills in digital and traditional photography. Participation encourages self-expression, attention to detail, and storytelling through images. Students also develop patience, critical thinking, and an eye for composition, while gaining confidence in using technology and exploring different artistic perspectives.  
 
The Film & Media Club benefits students in Years 7–9 by fostering creativity, storytelling, and digital literacy through hands-on experience in filmmaking and media production. Participation enhances critical thinking, communication, and collaboration as students explore scriptwriting, directing, editing, and visual storytelling. The club also builds confidence, technical skills, and media awareness, preparing students for future studies in creative and digital fields.  

 

The Fashion/Sewing Club benefits students in Years 7–9 by developing creativity, design skills, and practical craftsmanship. Participation enhances fine motor skills, patience, and attention to detail as students learn sewing techniques and explore fashion design. The club fosters self-expression, problem-solving, and a sense of accomplishment, while also encouraging sustainability and an appreciation for textiles and garment construction.  

 

The Model United Nations (MUN) Club benefits students in Years 7–9 by developing public speaking, diplomacy, and critical thinking skills through simulated international debates. Participation enhances research abilities, global awareness, and confidence in expressing ideas clearly and respectfully. The club also fosters leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving, preparing students for academic challenges and responsible global citizenship.

The Astronomy Club benefits students in Years 7–9 by sparking curiosity about space, science, and the universe. Participation enhances observational and analytical skills through activities like stargazing, model building, and exploring astronomical concepts.
